St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery is located directly beside Ayton Union Cemetery. This has caused some confusion on Find-a-Grave as someone named "B" (memorials now maintained by Find-a-Grave) erroneously uploaded dozens of Catholic memorials to the Union Cemetery. Find-a-Grave has been informed.

The land for St. Peter's RC Church (located at lot 8, Caroline St. W., Ayton) was donated by Mrs. Henry A. McMahon in 1869. The land for St. Peter's RC Cemetery was purchased from the Wenger brothers in 1883.
