St Peter's is an active Anglican parish church in Birstall, West Yorkshire. The church was founded in 1100, the tower was heightened in the 15th century and major refurbishment carried out from 1863 – 70.

The Rev W.M. Heald, vicar of Birstall, inspired Charlotte Bronte's character of the Rector, Mr. Hall, in her novel ‘Shirley' published in 1849.

St Peter's lies on the western edge of village surrounded by a mostly emptied churchyard. The larger part of the churchyard lies west of the church across Kirkgate (road).
