A new burial ground was consecrated in 1857, immediately to the north of the main churchyard, and in most sources this is referred to as Arreton Cemetery or Arreton Burial Ground.
NB, Gore Cemetery, which opened in 1909 on the road to Blackwater, 500m to the south-west of the church is now sometimes referred to as Arreton Cemetery, and this is likely to cause confusion.
