This is the original Saint Emery Roman Catholic Cemetery located on Baldwin Avenue next to Chestnut Hill Cemetery. It is the site of a monument memorializing the Darr Coal Mine disaster at Jacobs Creek that killed 239 workers (mostly Hungarian Immigrants) on Dec. 19, 1907. There is a second Saint Emery Cemetery located on Memorial Boulevard. The later cemetery was created when the first Saint Emery Cemetery was filled.
