Cave #1 is located on the north side Cave #2, both of which border N. Bell Street on the East and bordered by the Rose Hill Cemetery on the West. This property was purchased by the city of Hope in 1880, for a Black Cemetery, but the earliest graves death dates back to around 1888. References from a previous listing states there are lots of unmarked graves.

This section of the cemetery does not have a sign, however, it is assumed that this section has assigned plots which are designated and their records would show whom was buried in each plot. It appears that the cemetery is well maintained.
