Saint Martin of Tours Cemetery is the final resting place for Catholics of mostly English and Irish heritage who resided around Flaherty in Meade County, Kentucky. Many of the first generation settlers to Meade County migrated to the area from Maryland in the early 19th Century. The Cemetery Deceased List is maintained at the website link provided. If you request a photograph, please look up the specific burial location and add it to the plot field on the memorial so the volunteer can locate and photograph the grave. The Cemetery Deceased List includes most burials, although there are few people buried in the cemetery that may not be reflected on it. If you identify someone buried in the cemetery via a death certificate and they are not included on the Cemetery Deceased List, you should contact the parish to let them know so they can reconcile the record with the priest's funeral record. It is widely known that early burials in this cemetery were marked with wooden crosses that have since disintegrated. The parish has recently performed ground penetrating radar work at this site and identified a number of early unmarked burials. Contact the parish office for more information.
