Horsfield Graveyard

The Horsfield Graveyard was located on the former property of Timothy Horsfield (1708 — 1773) of Liverpool, Lancashire, England who resided in Brooklyn Heights, Kings County, New York from 1725 until his removal to Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania in 1748.
A butcher, Timothy Horsfield held properties in "Brookland Ferry" (Brooklyn Ferry, presently known as the Fulton Ferry District at the southeast foot of the Brooklyn Bridge) where he conducted business, and in Brooklyn Heights, where he had his home.
The latter property was put at the disposal of the Moravian Church after the departure of Brother Horsfield for Pennsylvania. The house provided accommodations for visiting Moravian ministers and it served as a school for boys beginning in the spring of 1750, under the supervision of Jasper Payne and James Greening.
A burial ground was present on the former property of Brother Horsfield (Records of the First Moravian Church, New York, New York, 1707-1890; FHL 17783, item 1).
