Add PhotosThe Liniers Jewish Cemetery (Cementerio Israelita de Liniers) and the Ciudadela Jewish Cemetery (Cementerio Israelita de Ciudadela) are not two entirely separate cemeteries, but rather two different historical sectors within the same continuous Jewish burial complex.
Located right on the border between Buenos Aires City and Ciudadela (Buenos Aires Province), the complex is divided into sectors based on chronology and community traditions:
- Liniers Sector (Founded 1910): The original, historic Ashkenazi sector managed by AMIA. It takes its name from the nearby Buenos Aires neighborhood of Liniers.
- Ciudadela Sector (Founded 1929): An expansion sector also managed by AMIA.
- Sephardic Sectors: Adjacent plots belonging to the AISA (Aleppo Jewish community) and ACIS (Turkish/Balkan Jewish community) associations.
While they share the same city block and interconnected grounds, the administration (AMIA) still lists them as separate sectors for burial location purposes.
