In 1915, Angus Thibault donated a piece of land in the centre of the community of Doucetteville, Digby County, Nova Scotia, eleven kilometers inland from the village of Plympton at the shore, for a church and cemetery. The church, called Sacred Heart (a mission church of the Roman Catholic parish of Holy Cross at Plympton) was completed in 1917, and Marc Amirault, who died April 28, 1917 at the age of 94, was the first to be buried in the adjacent cemetery.
