The Trump National Golf Club was opened in 2004, after President Trump purchased the 520-acre site in 2002. It was located on the Lamington Farm and estate formerly owned by auto maker John DeLorean. The 36-hole club was designed by golf course architects Tom Fazio and Tom Fazio II. In 2015, Trump received the approval to build a family cemetery at the estate that would include a classical mausoleum. Ivana Trump, Trump's ex-wife and mother to Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump, was buried in the Trump family cemetery on July 20, 2022. The mausoleum has not been built as of 2026, but the cemetery for now stands as the future resting place of President Trump and his family members. Like most former Presidents of the 20th and 21st Centuries, they are typically buried on the grounds of their Presidential Libraries. In this case, an exception will be made as President Trump's Presidential Library is set to open in Miami, Florida.
