A historic 51-acre public burial ground, the cemetery property is bounded by Moulton Street, Pine Street, and Travis Street.
Originally the site of the city's first schoolhouse, it features unique masonry artistry, early settler graves, and is the resting place of Lallie Briscoe Carlisle, Texas' first woman to hold elective office, clerk of Hunt County.
The cemetery is maintained by the City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department.
