- Landscape: The cemetery is well-maintained, "landscaped and trimmed," featuring a variety of mature oak and cedar trees that provide shade across its 20+ acres.
- Grave Markers: Memorials are constructed from a diverse range of materials, including concrete, granite, and wood, with some featuring ceramic photographs of the deceased.
- Layout: Originally a 5.5-acre plot, it has expanded multiple times. It is part of a contiguous trio of cemeteriesincluding St. Joseph and St. Rose that appear as one large property because there are no physical fences separating them.
History & Notable Features
- Origins: Founded after the nearby Evergreen Cemetery began running out of space. Local undertaker Christopher Rotzien purchased the land in 1901, and the first interment was Margaret Ann Eeds in April of that year.
- Potter's Field: In 1903, two outside tiers of blocks were sold to Bee County for use as a "Potter's Field" for the burial of paupers.
- Notable Interments:
- The sister of famed Texas author J. Frank Dobie, Curtis Walker pro baseball player and actor Walter Lawrence. And veterans of various conflicts, starting with the Spanish-American War.
