She was born August 25, 1949 in Lake Helen. She was the daughter of Wona Quinton Wilkins (died 2006) and Cecile Louise Wilkins (died 2001) She is survived by two sisters Wanda McDonough (Ricky) of Lake Helen and Winifred Wells (Gene) of White Lake, NC, Many nieces and nephews, her best and longest friend Tracy Wright of DeLand and her Uncle Johnny Carver of Orange City who was more of a brother to her.
She graduated from DeLand High School and attended the University of Florida. She was proud to be a Florida Gator. Wilma also graduated from the St. Louis Auctioneer School with honors and was the auctioneer for the Rocking W Auction.
She retired from Bell South after 30 years. She was an officer for the Communication Workers of America. She was also a member of the Pioneers of America and a Pioneers of America Clown. She was also a member of American Notories.
Wilma was the administrator for Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand until she had the stroke in 2014. She was a member of Find-a-Grave and enjoyed visiting cemeteries and posting on Find-a-Grave.
She was the president of the DeLand Gem and Mineral Club. She enjoyed finding, cutting and wire wrapping rocks and gems. For many years she and her parents operated Wilkins Lapidary. They made silver charms and jewelry. They would travel all over the states and sell at craft shows. She really enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and spending time with family and friends.
Billbo as her sisters, nieces and nephews called her will be sorely missed.
