Anita S. Hoffmanns Lindhuber, 97, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away on August 27, 2014, at Sunnyside Nursing home, Sarasota, FL. She was born on September 11, 1916 and raised in Marion, OH, the daughter of Anna Rosalie and Johann Everhard Hoffmanns. She married Philip Lindhuber in 1939 and moved to Toledo to raise her family. She was a proud graduate of the University of Toledo, with an Associate's degree in Accounting in 1958, while also raising teenage sons and taking care of her live-in parents. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and an avid golfer at Highland Meadows GC, while living in Toledo. After her husband retired from the Dana Corporation, they relocated to Sarasota, FL in 1973, where she volunteered with the local Salvation Army unit for over 10 years. She was a member of St. Wilfred's Episcopal Church in Sarasota.
Her husband, Philip, son John P. and a brother, Frederick, preceded her in death. Surviving are sons, Thomas C. Lindhuber of Fort Wayne, IN and James R. (Carol) Lindhuber, of Sylvania, OH, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a future date. Memorials can be directed to the Salvation Army in Sarasota or to the charity of your choice.
