William H. Singer, 81, died at the J.H.Wilson home, 212 Sycamore Street, at 12:30 this afternoon after an illness of more than a years and a half. Mr. Singer underwent an operation 18 months age. Three weeks ago he became bedfast.
Mrs. Singer was born in Wisconsin, Sept. 4, 1847. When a boy he came with his parents to Iowa in a prairie schooner, the family settling on a farm near Corning, Ia., where Mr. Singer spent most of his life. He came to Muscatine from Iowa City in February of this years. He never married.
Surviving are one brother, E.J. Singer of Corning, Ia., and two sisters, Mrs. F.T. Wilson of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Mary Ballard of Telluride, Colo.
The body was removed to the Meyers Funeral Home where it will remain until funeral arrangements are announced.
