Francis X. "Frank" Whare, Jr. (63)
Frank Whare, born July 17, 1957, to the late Francis X. Sr. and Andrea J. (Perry) Whare, passed away on December 19, 2020, at his home. He is survived by brothers, Perry L. Whare and wife, America, of Manchester, Patrick A. Whare, and a sister, Marianne Meckley both of York, three nieces, two nephews, three great nieces and three great nephews. In addition, many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends will cherish his memory.
Frank, a graduate of York Catholic High School and California University of Pennsylvania worked for Port City Press, Strine Printing and most recently for Giant Foods. Most notably he lovingly cared for his mother during her fight with cancer until her passing.
His passions were golfing and photographing wildlife. For years prior to the building of UPMC in York he walked the trails of the former golf course capturing photos of the many birds that inhabited that unofficial wildlife refuge. He was also faithful in caring for his pets, companions Scruffy, a little West Highland Terrier mix and a rescued kitten, Miss Kitty.
"The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7 As Frank had a caring and loving heart, he is now resting with our Lord through His grace.
