Laura Smith Parton, born October 25, 1953 passed into heaven on June 16, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, NC. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Virginia Galyen Smith. Also, preceding her in death was father-law Lester Parton and mother-in-law Myrtle Parton and her brother, William A. Smith.
Laura was employed at AT&T for 38 years. She was a humorous person, enjoyed life to the fullest, and cared deeply for her family and friends. She loved to travel for many years with Tony, William, and Brenda and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband, Tony Parton, of 50 years, brothers Warren Smith and Wayne Smith, sister-in-law Brenda Smith, special nephew Jody Smith, best friend Evelyn Williams, special goddaughters Dawn Ollis and Misty Matheson, nephews Mark Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Walter Watson, Larry Parton, Jr. and nieces Lisa Barber, Diane Hamm, Cathy Turnmire, Debbie Huffman, Stephanie Brown and Amy Hall, also, her furry companions Hannah and Zoey.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Park conducted by Reverend Joel Bixler.
