Mildred Lucille Herschberger Jolley, 81, departed this life on December 15, 2023. Born in Norfolk, VA on August 18, 1942, she was a 1960 graduate of Maury High School and worked for many years as an executive assistant in various industries. She was also a certified massage therapist and practiced this healing art part-time for almost ten years.
Millie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, photography, digital scrapbooking and genealogy. She loved creating family tree books and photo scrapbooks for her family and friends.
Millie was a woman of faith who had imprinted on her soul at an early age the love, wonder, and saving grace of her precious Savior, Jesus. She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Norfolk.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Christopher T. Jolley of Portsmouth, Virginia; as well as her two granddaughters, Krissa L. Smoot and Shelbey R. Jolley of Semmes, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew W. Jolley; her mother, Myrtle L. Herschberger; and her maternal grandparents, Charles Wilson Kello, Sr. and Mildred Degge Pike Kello; and her former husband and lifelong friend, Ralph Floyd Jolley.
A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel in Norfolk, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Norfolk, with Pastor Michael Tan officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Norfolk or Compassion International (compassion.com).
