"Deaths - Ralph V Ecklund - Mr Ecklund died Saturday at his home in Walnut, Calif, following an extended illness. He was 70. He was born in ChandlersValley on August 1, 1895, but was raised in Youngsville. For many years he lived in Garland and was employed at the Garland Furniture Company. He later moved to Corry in 1942 and worked at the Aero Supply. Following the end of World War II he moved to Jamestown where he lived for several years. Mr Ecklund then moved to Phoenix, Ariz, in 1961, and to his present home in November of last year. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Abbott [Ecklund], in 1939, and a son, Clarence, in 1952 (sic) [1953]. Included among his survivors are his wife, Jessie; two sons, Edward of Levittown, Pa, and Raymond of Las Puente, Calif; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Mrs Leonard (Helen) Lewis of Celeron, NY; [and] one brother, Stanley of Jamestown. Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home...and attend final rites there, Thursday at 2 pm, with Rev Elmer Ortner officiating. Burial will be made in Garland Presbyterian Cemetery."
