David William Smith, 71, of Mason, went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 11, 1939 in Hartford, a son of the late Walter Samuel and Sadie (Lyons) Smith. He was a barge loader for JayMar Coal Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving with of 48 years, Marie Smith of Mason; loving daughters, Debbie Leach of Cheshire, Ohio, and Mary Beth (Bill) Dobbs of Taylor, Texas; special grandchildren LaTricia Smith, Gerald Dobbs, Jonathan Dobbs, and Heather Lavender; great grandchildren, Ryanna Lee and Austin Lee; Sisters, Donna Guinther of Syracuse, Ohio, Carolyn (Ed) Burge of Ripley; brother, Harry Joe (Angela) Smith of Ripley; sister-in-law, Shelly (Al) Goodman of Florida; special companions, Spike and Skipper; special friend, Keith Searles; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Graham Cemetery.
