Patricia "Pat" Anne Southwick, age 78, of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, died Monday, May 16, 2011, following a long battle with complications from a rare disease, Wegener's Granulomatosis. She born November 4, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan.
Pat was a longtime resident of Kansas City, Missouri and Akron, Ohio before settling in the Fredericksburg, VA area in 1997. Pat and Torey spent seven retirement years roaming the entire country in a motorhome, making many other "full-timing" friends along the way. In 2007, she was elected as the first female president of the Summerlake community's board of directors.
As an enthusiastic genealogist, she was a longstanding member of the Find a Grave community, known as Pat Southwick. We cannot thank her enough for her contributions.
Pat also won awards for crocheting exquisite tablecloths and bedspreads, and was a true "news junkie."
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Torey Southwick; daughters, Terri Southwick, Sherman Oaks, California; Gayle (Daniel) Sanders, Woodbridge, VA; two grandchildren, Michael and Kerri; and a great-grandson, Lucas.
At her request, no public service will be held. Memorial contributions to the Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center, Woodbridge, Virginia.
