Irvin Fisher Dies Thursday

Irvin Fisher, 63, a lifelong resident of the community and vicinity, succumbed early yesterday at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. William Mellen, 718 East Railroad street.


Ailing since May with a heart condition, he had been bedfast for the past month. Recently his condition became increasingly critical until his demise at 1:20 o'clock yesterday morning.


A son of the late Franklin and Emma, nee Flexer, Fisher, the departed was born at Wiggans on May 21, 1880.


He had resided in Mahanoy City most of his life, and since his youth had been employed at regional collieries. He was last employed at Buck Mountain. Mr. Fisher was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church.


Well-known and esteemed throughout the community and vicinity, he possessed a multitude of friends who join his family in lamenting his death.


Surviving are two sisters, Irma, wife of William Mellen, of the East Railroad street address, and Elsie, wife of John Hughes, of 622 East Centre street, from whose home the funeral will be held Tuesday. H. F. Clifford is the funeral director in charge.
