Joanna K. Nelson was June 27, 1931, in Athens, Greece. She was a daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, cosmetologist, servant and friend. Her husband (Ray) preceded her in death in 2012, as did her faithful dog (Chiquita) in 2024.
She will forever be remembered for her feisty Greek nature and her giving spirit to her community, church (Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Memphis), and neighbors.
