Beverly Ann "Bev" Dunn, 81, passed away peacefully in her home on 22 July 2024, in Milford, OH.

Bev leaves behind her 5 children, Lynne (Geoff) Marshall, Laurie (Will) Bender, Leslie Griffith, Lisa (Mark) Hill, and Jeffrey (Holly) Griffith; as well as 13 grand-children and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Judy (Tom) Bockstiegel and her nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by grandson, James "Jimmy" Dean, nephew Michael Bockstiegel, and great-niece Kelcy Regensburger.

12 February 1943 Beverly was born to John Wilbur Dunn Jr. "Willie" and Betty Jean Dunn. 3 years later her baby sister Judy came along. The family of four resided in Mariemont, OH.

Bev spent her first 18 years of life in Mariemont and was proud to call this quaint New England Village her home. She attended Dale Park Elementary and Mariemont High School, graduating in 1961.

There was a twinkle in her eye whenever Bev shared stories of her youth. Most stories included her little sister Judy and her best friend, Ella Sheffield (Godfrey). She cherished her relationships with them, both of which were lifelong.

She met John "Jack" Thomas in high school, and they were married in 1962. During their marriage they had two children Lynne and Laurie. Bev went on to have three more children with James "Jim" Griffith; Leslie, Lisa, and Jeffrey.

Bev enjoyed and took great pride in being a mother and involved herself in jobs and activities that would allow her to be present with her children. She was a Girl Scout leader, softball/baseball coach, and the president of the PTA.

To earn money at home, she provided in-home childcare, ran a newspaper route, and even became a Mary Kay consultant. Bowling was an activity she picked up for herself along the way.

As her children grew older, she began working outside the home and in 1978 she began her 21-year career at Ethicon. Having a career gave her an independence that she grew fond of it. She enjoyed living on her own and in 1993 she proudly purchased her own, first home in Cherry Grove, OH. Her home and wardrobe were always beautifully decorated and meticulously kept. She appreciated quality in every aspect of her life and her style was that of class and elegance.

Later in life, her favorite pastimes were ones of patience and appreciation, including bird watching, tending to her garden, eloquent letter/card writing, and genealogy. She was fascinated by her ancestry and dedicated countless hours to tracking lineage, as far back as the 1500s. Genealogy gave her purpose and granted her an opportunity to highlight and share her family's accomplishments, which brought her joy.

In her genealogical biography, she writes "I am thankful for my family and I dedicate this work of love to them"

This message alone speaks to what legacy she wished to leave; one of love, family, and connection. As her family we are honored to say her legacy will forever live on through us.
