SHEPHERD, Cindy – God gently gathered our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and best friend into His arms and took her home to rest. Cindy peacefully ended her courageous battle with cancer while surrounded by her family at home on Saturday, March 29th, 2014 at the age of 60. Loving wife of Frank for over 22 years. Cherished mother of Steve Mertz (Melissa) and Robyn Hornyak (Doug). She will remain forever in the hearts of her grandchildren Dillon and Boone. Loved sister of Carl Johnson (Cindy). Sadly missed by her nieces Amy Youngren and Natalie Vanderwier (Darrick), her great-niece Lauren and great-nephew Marcus. Dear sister-in-law of Julie and Pete Marshall. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at J. J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland where Pastor Randy Raycroft will conduct a service to celebrate Cindy's life on Wednesday morning at 11:30. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
