Larry Joe Boyd, 80, of Green Castle, MO, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at his home.
Born June 3, 1945, in Spring Valley, IL, Larry was born the son of Hazel Mae (Greathouse) and the late James Ralph Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Boyd, and two brothers, Ronnie and Richard Boyd. On January 14, 1978, in Peru, IL, Larry was united in marriage to Debra Ann Severson.
Larry is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Debra; one daughter, Michelle Ichikawa, of Hawaii; one brother, Gary Bruno, of Granville, IL; thirteen grandchildren; as well as six great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Yolanda (Medina) Boyd.
Larry was a 1963 Graduate of Hopkins Township High School, in Granville, IL. He served his country in the United State Marine Corps from 1965 to 1968, during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V. F. W.) Post 8324, Granville, IL.
Larry was employed forty plus years for Huntsman Corporation, in Peru, IL. He was a member of River Rats Muzzle Loaders, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He moved to the Green Castle area to make his home thirteen years ago.
It was Larry's wish to be cremated and no service will be held in Missouri. Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home, of Kirksville, MO.
Graveside services will be held June 3, 2026, at the Granville Cemetery, Granville. IL, with military honors conducted by members of the Granville VFW, Granville American Legion, and the Marine Corps Honor Guard. Local arrangements will be through Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville, IL.
