Wanda Sue Walls Crank, 57, of Julian, Boone County, went home to walk with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, after a short illness.
She was born in Madison and, after living in North Carolina for 17 years, she had resided in Julian for the past four years and faithfully attended her church, Lory Baptist Church. She was very happily married to Thomas Crank for the past 24 years.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Loretta Porter Walls, and a brother, Roger Dale Walls.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, David A. and Karmon Burns of Hickory, N.C., Brent D. Burns of McAlester, Okla., Christopher S. and Carolyn Burns of Charleston and Dennis L. Burns II of Hickory, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Whitney, Savannah and Jessie Burns, Taylor, Riley and Zachary Burns and Ariana and Alina Burns; three sisters and their husbands, JoAnn and Paul Caudill of Lakeland, Fla., Monzella and Billy Caudill of Millwood and Sandra Kocis of Elkview; and three brothers and their wives, Merrill Walls of Chattanooga, Tenn., Johnny "Doug" and Sharon Walls of Beckley and Lowell Gene and Jovanna Walls of Hickory, N.C.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at Lory Baptist Church, Julian, with Pastor Garry Bowman and Johnny "Doug" Walls officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison.
