Ann Peary Alexander Carnegie was born to parents George Carnegie and Jane Alexander in 1856. Ann was the second wife of Archibald McDonald and they had four daughters and one son together. Ann lost her only son in 1915 when he was "killed in action" at Gallipoli Peninsular, W.W.1. Ann Peary Alexander McDonald died at 2 Oliver St. Ballarat East, the home of her sister,Rachel Young.
