Daniel O'Brien,one of the old settlers of the county, died at 1 oclock Tuesday morning at the family residence, 1595 Railroad Ave. He was 72 years old and had resided in Macon county for fifty two years and was widely known. He was born in County Cork, Ireland. He came to Illinois in 1858 and settled on a farm near Oreana. He lived on the farm till twenty five years ago, when he moved to Decatur. He was wealthy.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Ed and Richard O'Brien of Decatur, Daniel and John O'Brien of Clinton, Mrs.C.A. Ibison of Macon and Mrs. Ella Garvin of Oreana.
The funeral will be held at 9 Oclock Wednesday morning at St. Patricks Catholic church. The burial will be in Calvery cemetery.
