Joseph W. Byous, Jr., 63, of Rossville, GA passed away Monday, June 21, 2010, at a local health care facility.


He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga, TN and Rossville, GA area where he retired in 2001 from Graybar Electric with 33 years of service. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith and had served in the U.S. Army and National Guard.


He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph W. Byous, Sr.; mother, Mary Irene Byous; and brother, Charles Byous.


Survivors include three children, Tracy Dawn Lee of Ringgold, GA, David Joseph (Leah) Byous of Ringgold, GA, and Valerie Claire Byous of Rossville, GA; two sisters, JoAnne (Butch) Cantrell of Chattanooga, TN, and Judy Byous of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; sisters-in-law, Fran Byous of Rossville, GA and Crystal (Robert) Pityer of Ellijay, GA; brother-in-law, Randy Williams of Johnson City, TN; brother, Jerry Lee Byous of Panama City, FL; five grandchildren, Austin, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Jacob, and Abigail; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2p.m. in the South Crest Chapel. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.


The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
