Mr. Robert Albertus Young Jr., 69, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019, at MUSC Health-Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, SC.
He was born Sept. 16, 1949, in Lancaster,SC, a son of the late Robert Albertus Young Sr. and Mary Lou Hegler Young.
Mr. Young was a special man. He was a brother and teacher. He was associated with the Richland County School District for 27 years, teaching world history at Spring Valley High School and also at Richland North East. Mr. Young was also a historical researcher and a cowboy.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Lancaster Funeral Home.
Mr. Young is survived by a sister, Mary Lynn Young Farr and her husband, James, of Woodstock, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Wylie Vaughn Sr. of Lancaster; four nephews, McKendree Farr, Taylor Farr, Wylie Vaughn Jr. and Tony Vaughn; and two nieces, Crystal Carnes and Melinda Woodhurst.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by a sister, Acelia Vaughn.
