Bill, the son of Edward and Martha Lorraine Kamradt and husband of Virginia Kaiser Kamradt, will be buried at this site one day and entered the following biography while he still could.
Bill is the youngest of four children born to Ed and Martha Lorraine Kamradt and was raised in East Jordan, Michigan. He graduated with academic honor from East Jordan High School in 1949 and was granted a four year scholarship to Michigan State College from which he was graduated with a BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering in May 1953. At MSC he was a ROTC cadet and was commissioned upon graduation, entering active duty in the U.S. Army in October 1953.
While in College Bill met and courted Virginia Kaiser who he married in Grosse Pointe, Michigan on February 27, 1954 while on leave between military duty stations. Their honeymoon consisted of driving to Ft. Hood, Texas where Bill served until November 1955 when he was released from active duty. They moved back to Michigan and made a home for themselves and their family, in Madison Heights. Bill's job required that he relocate his family to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1981 where they resided the rest of their lives.
In November 1955 Bill took employment with Chrysler Corporation,and held several positions: 1955-1966 Central Engineering, Test and Development Engineer; 1966-1981 Huber Avenue Foundry, Plant Metallurgist and Quality Control Manager; 1981-1989 Indianapolis Foundry, Product Engineering/Quality Control Manager. He retired from the Indianapolis Foundry October 31, 1989.
Bill's hobbies included: painting, woodworking, genealogy and the restoration of the 1930 Model A Ford truck that his father had purchased when it was new and used it to support his family through the depression.
