Actor, Writer, Educator, and Genealogist Rodney Tyrone Snell was born 10 May 1966 in Long Branch, New Jersey to 15 year old parents and raised by his maternal grandparents, he learned his deceased father's identity in 2014 through DNA testing after 38 years of believing another man his father. Educated in Long Branch Public Schools, he worked for several years in retail. Fired in 1991, and awarded a settlement for wrongful termination. He began coursework and earned an Associate in Arts degree from Brookdale Community College in 1994. Relocating to Boston, he completed undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emerson College in 1997.
