Back in 1980 I started becoming interested in where my family came from and where they were buried. I spent most of my summers (as a youngster back in the 1950's) at my grandparents farm in Columbia County (AR). My mother and I searched cemeteries in that part of the state. I got 'first hand' information on a lot of the 'old timers' of the county. Most of the people in the area were related, one way or another. I talked to as many of my relatives as I could that were still living at the time. After the Internet became available, I tried searching that way. When Find-A-Grave came along, it made searching a little different. Since about the year 2000, I started posting MY family and ancestors on Find-A-Grave. I found this to be an excellent way for people to find their kinfolk. I mainly concentrate on MY ancestors. I'm NOT interested in posting any and everybody on Find-A-Grave. I feel by doing this I can provide better and more accurate information (including full names, places, dates, etc.) for any search. After all, these are MEMORIALS for people, not for numbers. Let's treat them with respect.
If I have inaccurately posted a memorial, please let me know. I would like to correct my information as well.
UPDATE- 2022
March of this year I suffered a major heart attack which resulted in a quadruple bypass, taking veins from my leg and converting them into arteries for my heart. After most a full day in surgery, it was successful. Seven days later I suffered a stroke, blood clot lodged on brain stem. It too was successfully corrected by drainage (so I was later told). Due to the incompetence from hospital staff, I was then diagnosed by another hospital with 'multiple mineral deficiencies', which has put me in and out of a wheelchair unable to walk. After all this I was informed that in the x-rays I had cancer in one lung. I decided NOT to go the same ole routine of surgery followed by chemo, radiation and then sickness followed by death. I chose the more advanced procedure called Cyber Knife, which are mega doses of directed radiation in a short period of time. I just finished two weeks of this treatment this July 1st. I've been told results will not appear for at least two months.
At this point I have discontinued my research. My focus is more on me and family for now. Thank you!
