Researching the Attell and Tomsky families of San Francisco, California. First became interested in grave hunting when I went off by myself, away from my tour group, to find Henrik Ibsen's grave in Oslo, Norway, in 1993. I found out about Find-A-Grave a short time later and began posting photos of both the famous and my family (and famous family -- Abe and Monte Attell are brothers of my great-grandfather Caesar). Visiting famous graves during vacations has now become a hobby, especially graves of authors -- Ibsen, William Wordsworth, Franz Kafka. I don't consider a vacation complete until I find at least one famous grave. And if I have to go off on my own to find it, so much the better.
My most recent project, while I was attending school in the Boston area, was to visit all of the graves of the British and American soldiers and civilians killed during the hostilities of the ever memorable April 19, 1775, the first day of the American Revolution.
