Although not as active as some are, my hobby is taking pictures of Hall-of-Fame baseball players grave sites. As many of you also do the same.

My wife and I have four children and six beautiful grandchildren. It is for them that I do the research, so they will have a sense of their families. I work at the University of Pennsylvania so my access to historic grave sites being near the cradle of liberty is where my interest peaked. When I tell people I like visiting cemeteries and grave sites, they look at me with a very strange look on their faces, but I guess you have to know what finding a grave site does to one who is interested in such.

I was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia. Spent my teen and married years (widowed in 2020) in Delaware County to the west of Philly. Always had a certain liking to cemeteries going back to childhood. Lived a long stones throw from Mount Moriah Cemetery and it grieves me to see how it has been unkempt over the past 50 years. Into Genealogy and researching the Press, Knaub, Reinbold, Good, Shaffer, Black and Robinson families on my side and the Ricci/Devlin heritage on my wife's side. I'm officially hooked.

I don't really answer photo requests. If I see one come across and I know I will have a free hour or so to get to that particular cemetery, I will go and take the picture and then answer the request. This way no one gets hurt by me answering yes and not being able to get to it. I usually won't answer any requests if there isn't at least a Section number or designate on the request. Some cemetery offices can get very annoyed at having to give out info.
