Milton L Jenkins was born in Meridian Mississippi along with his twin sister Mildred at Matty Hersee Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi, a charity hospital. He spent most of his early years in Kemper and Neshoba Counties of Mississippi. At seventeen (1953) he entered the Air Force and spent 28 years, retiring as a Radar Superintendent in the grade of Chief Master Sergeant (E9). After retiring from the Air Force, He went to work at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi, in civil service and taught the maintenance of Aircraft instrumentation and the Airborne Command Post. After a tenure of teaching, he was promoted from GS-9 to GS-11 where he supervised the teaching of Air Traffic Control, Airfield Management, Airborne Aircraft Control and Warning System. Promoted from GS-11 to GS-12 where he managed student inflow and the number students per class. He holds a BS degree from the University of William Carey in Business Management. He is the son of Robert Benjamin and Vesta Eakes Jenkins. His father Robert Jenkins died when he was eight years old. He was married to Sandra Fortson Jenkins, of Marietta, Georgia, and they had three adult children Dr. (MD) David Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, an engineer, and Dr. (MD) Sheila Jenkins Roy-Burman. He is now fully retired and loves researching his family tree. His wife Sandra died February 25, 2022.
