Father of four, two surviving, grandfather of two, and a believer that looking backwards is a bad way to drive a car, but a great way to value life, at least when we appreciate the gifts to us all that our forebears left us.

I'm also a bit of a scavenger, and a puzzle solver. I have to thank my grandfather's first wife, Ila Madine Kiser Stilson, whose initials on her gift to him nearly a hundred years ago today ("IK to FS {19}'09) were the only clue I had in this world to the mystery of her identity. Can't wait to meet her, after a few more years of this life, that is. His love for her reminded me that we owe a lot to those who went before us, even those we don't yet know.
