I used to do genealogy from the standpoint that it was fun to find out who I was related to that seemed important. But in 1994, after moving to Dallas, Polk, Oregon, with my family, my mother in law called and asked me to find out what I could for my late wife's GG grandmother. After about 2 weeks of researching I was able to connect my wife's family to about half of the early Polk Co. settlers. It was then that I caught the genealogy bug and have not stopped running in my hunting since.

I have branched out to my family and my new wife's family. I have been asked by quite a few people if I could research their families and have been able to locate a lot for each person. I guess you could say that I'm like a pit bull...once I sink my teeth into something I'm not going to let go until I either get it done or die trying. Within two hours of asking me, one of the people of my wife's Boy Scout troop had over eight generations to her formerly unknown family. She was shocked and surprised when I handed her what I found. I am analytical and stubborn.

I have been asked when will it stop and I responded that it will only stop when I can attach everyone on earth to each other someway. I realize that this will lead me to many "dead ends" but that's where most of our ancesters are, right? Oh well!!! Happy Hunting!!!
