I became interested in my family's genealogy in about 2001 while hunting for my ancesters grave sites in Southern Middle Tennessee. The Curtiss and Cheeves Familys; I have come to discover, were once great in number and influence in the Bedford, Marshall, Lincoln and Giles County area.
Through the death of my Grandmother, Myrtle Cheeves Curtiss Nichols in 2000 and inheritance of her bible, I began to understand the impact my family once had on that area of Tennessee in the 1800's and early 1900's. I then researched and discovered other important links to the widow Elizabeth (Hutchins) Curtiss of Stratford, Connecticut.
I have expanded my research recently to also include my Baughman, Dillon, Johnston, etc., ancestors from Ohio and Pennsylvania. Please see links to MY CURTISS FAMILY at Ancestry.com free pages and family trees.
