I am a single mother with a 26-year old son. I have retired from the US Government after 37+ years.

I really got interesting in tracing my family roots when my son had a school project. I was pretty much hooked from then on. I grew up knowing 3 of my Great Grandparents. I am just sorry I was not interested while they were still here to talk to me. My grandmother passed away July 2007 at the age of 103. In the last few months of her life I actually talked to her about relatives. Just peaked my interest more.

I consider myself a real novice but I am an obsessive person who needs documentation if at all possible. That is how I found this website and have been very thankful for all of the wonderful people who have fulfilled my requests and also shared some tips.
