I have been researching my family history since I was in junior high school, and was very fortunate to have access to a lot of family records. As a child I was extremely scared of cemeteries, but as I grew in to my teenage years and became more intensely involved in my research, I found myself tromping through a lot of cemeteries. Unfortunately, I found so many monuments that were barely legible, and thought then I should try to transcribe as many as possible so that others could find their family members too. Though I have been researching for over 30 years now, I am fortunate that I still find new cousins quite regularly. I hope that some of my postings will help others to find their relatives.

I want to thank my family who have helped me transcribe in the early days, then assist with photos in more recent years. Not many spouses and/or siblings are willing to go to a cemetery on a freezing cold Thanksgiving day to help transcribe and/or take pictures but mine do.

If you find anything that needs to be corrected, please let me know, and we will resolve this together. If you are a family member of one I have transcribed, and I am not, I will be happy to transfer your family member to you. I believe family members should be able to take care of their family memorials here, just as if you were taking care of the actual cemetery regardless of how closely you are related.

If you are a "cousin" I would love to hear from you and exchange information. Some of my direct family surnames are: Borders, Botner, Harman/Harmon, Houchin, Jackson, Pearman, Peery, Short, Smith, Taylor, Thorne, Watson, Benke, Campbell, Clark, Denisiuk, Hudson and Piper. And my husband's side include Matuse, Privette, Davis, and Boykin.
