I grew up in Hayden (Maries Co.) Missouri, the daughter of Charles L. and Catherine (Clement) Hayes. My dad was a school teacher in Vienna for many years and my mother ran the Post Office and store in Hayden. Hayden was a very small town - just a store/Post Office and gas station. No other residents, except for my grandparents who were Reeder and Mattie Clement. We lived about a 1/4 mile from the Kenner Cemetery and my dad donated some land to expand the cemetery. That's where he and mom, and a few other relatives, are buried. My husband and I live in Dallas, TX, having moved here from the Seattle, WA area in 1987.
