As someone who almost failed history in high school, It's funny how now it seems I can't get enough!

It started abt mid 90's when my son was in the 2nd grade. He brought home a blank tree to fill in & he'd get extra credit for each generation past his grandparents.

I started to actually like learning abt history, especially Local History, once I finally realized my family WAS history!

They actually lived these stories!

That was all it took, I was hooked!

(He maxed out the extra credit btw) Lol!

Over the years I have come to understand the importance of documentation, preservation and storage of things like names, dates, events,, photos and newspapers, etc., so that they will be available for many generations to come after me.

My new goal is to work on and spread the word abt the importance of preserving the memories of our Veterans.

Their training, active service and experiences.

Too many accounts have already been buried with these brave men and women. Their stories never to be told.

We need to start now!

Ask parents, grandparents, neighbors, etc, abt their service.

Let them know we appreciate them and that their stories are important enough to share with others.

In my eyes, they are the true hero's of the world.

Thank them for their service and for the freedoms you enjoy today.

We owe them much more than that.

God Bless each and every one of them, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their bloodshed and their lives.
