Brian G. Andersson is the former Commissioner (2002-2010) of New York City's Department of Records, and has served as Director of Records & Archives for Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx, NYC. A genealogist of note, he was the co-discoverer of the true story of Annie Moore, Ellis Island's first arrival, in 2006. He also spearheaded the 350th and 375th anniversary of Jonas Bronck's (The Bronx, NYC is named for him) arrival in Niew Amsterdam. For the 375th in 2014, an anniversary celebration and monument placement was had in Bronck's hometown in Småland, Sweden, and covered by the world press.

He has appeared regularly on television in the Emmy Award-winning NYC-TV program "Secrets of New York."
