I was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Lillington, North Carolina, in Harnett County. Following my service in the United States Navy, I lived in Northern California for many years before eventually returning to my hometown of Lillington. I later made my home in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

My involvement with Find a Grave began more than 18 years ago while searching for the burial locations of several of my own family members. I remember finding their memorials and realizing that there were no photographs of their headstones. Living on the other side of the country, I understood firsthand how meaningful a simple photograph could be to someone unable to visit a loved one's grave in person.

That experience inspired me to begin walking cemeteries throughout Oroville, Chico, and other communities in Butte County, California. I photographed grave markers, created memorials, and fulfilled photo requests whenever I could.

For more than 18 years, I have continued volunteering with Find a Grave. I believe that every grave represents a person, a family, and a story worth remembering. Taking a photograph or documenting a memorial may seem like a small act, but to someone searching from hundreds or even thousands of miles away, it can provide a meaningful connection to a loved one or an ancestor.

I continue to photograph cemeteries and contribute memorial information whenever possible. It is my way of helping others remember and honor those who came before us.
