I was born and raised in Rutland, Vermont. I am married and the proud parent of three children, and later discovered an even deeper joy in life when I was blessed with two grandchildren—something I never imagined could equal the love I had for my own children.

As a military spouse, I traveled extensively throughout the United States, including spending ten years in Alaska, often referred to as "God's Country." It was during my time there that I developed a passion for photography.

My interest in genealogy began at a young age while spending many days with my grandmother, a member of the D.A.R., Ann Story Chapter. I assisted her with genealogical research and with locating the graves of unknown soldiers so that flags could be placed in their honor as a sign of respect and remembrance.

Since 2009, genealogy research has become a daily passion of mine. Prior to that, I researched intermittently with the help of my brother David, before his passing. Through his Y-DNA test, I was able to identify our specific Sheldon lineage. With the support of several members of The Sheldon Genealogy Facebook Group, I have broken through a 30-year brick wall, though I continue working to confirm a connection to Godfrey Sheldon of Maine on my father's side.

I also descend from a separate Sheldon line on my mother's side, tracing back to Isaac Sheldon. Beyond the Sheldon families, my research extends to the Raymond, Stevens, Harrington, Bushee, Baker, Rogers, Horton, Colvin, Stone, Wade, Slate, and Cadwell families, among others.
