Bio
Native of west Texas, a Texas Tech Red Raider and now living in central Texas. I began doing research on my family tree in 1982. I'm a 6th generation Texan, living not far from where my paternal 3g-grandfather, Timothy Jones, and his brother Allen B, Jones lived when they moved from Kentucky to Texas in 1823, when, as part of Austin's Colony, they each received a land grant from Mexico. Both fought in the Texas Revolution and Allen's name is engraved on the San Jacinto Monument. I'm just 45 miles from where my great-grandfather was born in 1864, in Wimberley, Texas.
My mother's Harlow family are the newcomers to Texas, when they moved here in 1881 from Georgia.
My family ancestry research includes:
Paternal: Jones, Layfield, Moseley, McCorkle, Ruffin, Averett, Veale, Zachry, Fristoe, Tolliver, Ratliff, Gilmore
Maternal: Harlow, Snellgrove, Garrett, Floyd, Beane, Hellums, Hopkins, May, Elkins, Cundiff
