To me and my closest family, cemeteries have always been enjoyable places to visit - and are now, especially as more family and friends become permanent residents :) Find A Grave enables us to visit cemeteries all the time. Some say we're a weird lot!
Now it's possible, with like-minded friends sharing their discoveries, for us to "visit" memorials of ancestors in far-away places. Through photos of cemeteries and markers, we can see final resting places chosen, usually by the ancestors themselves or their loved ones. If shared, we can read biographies and even see photos of souls from whom we are descended. Learning the history of the times and places helps put personalities to names and faces.
