I was born in Nashville, TN, on July 12, 1954, to Jack Toby Kay and Billie B (Phillips) Kay, where my father, Jack Kay played the fiddle with Webb Pierce and Wondering Boys. We left Nashville when I was about 2 years old and went back to our home in Alexandria, Louisiana, where I remained until my 17th birthday, when I boarded a plane to Jacksonville, Florida to be with my first husband, James Braddy Johnson.

I have a sister, Linda (Kay) Charlton), DeRidder, Louisiana, one half sister, Charlotte Fancher, Karnack, TX and two brothers, Dennis Flynn Kay, Leesville, LA and Charles Byron Hooper, Harper, TX.

I have lived in Augusta, since 1981. I am married to Lawrence David Smith, and have two sons from my first marriage to James (Jimmy) Johnson. Jamie Johnson, born 02.04.1974 and Jeramie Bryan Johnson, born 07.06.1974. Both sons reside in Harlem, Georgia, as does their father.

I have either lived in or visited many places around the world, to include, Nashville, TN,(birth place) Alexandria, Berlin, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, England, Ireland, Washington DC, Miami FL, Jacksonville, FL, Fort Bragg, NC and now Augusta, Georgia.

I am currently a Sales Account Executive with Beasley Broadcast Group, which in the Augusta market has 7 radio stations.
